Craps (McCain) vs. Poker (Obama)
Like anyone else, I'm a sucker for stories that merge interests of mine. In this case, two of my vices: politics and gambling.
For the sake of argument, let's assume that a person's gambling habits help to define leadership style. At the very least, I propose that the risks a person takes, or more specifically, how a person manages risk and decides which risks to take, give a clear indication of that person's potential to be a decisive leader and an effective doer.
So which style would you rather have as the leader of the free world?
Someone whose style depends solely on lucky streaks and guessing at numbers (McCain loves him some craps)?
Or someone whose style is nuanced and based in logic, diligent negotiation, cutthroat deal-brokering, forming relationships, and doing whatever it takes to win (Obama is a helluva poker player, apparently)?
As for me, I'm going with the poker player--you know, as if I need another reason to be an Obama supporter.
